Bloom Skills Centre is a non-profit organization focused on education and skills development. We provide unique programming for young adults aged 18-30, with intellectual and developmental exceptionalities, who wish to work towards greater independence. Although all measurables are based on the individual, participants are accepted into our programming based on their willingness to learn. We believe that skills can be taught, but only if the willingness is there to do so.
We will employ an array of inclusive strategies and approaches to support all participants’ needs so that they can progress to the best of their ability.
Our skills development programming is delivered in 8 week blocks. Each day of learning is a 4 hour block and runs from 8:30am-12:30pm. Our skills development programs are listed in two categories: Root Programs and Fruit Programs.
Root Programs:
Just like the plants we grow, the Root Programs teach critical independent life skills. They are also the foundational programs and some are prerequisites for our Fruit Programs.
Fruit Programs: Our Fruit programs are hands-on opportunities to learn employment skills in a work environment. Applying all the skills learned in the foundational Root Programs, students can practice with real customers and connect with community.
For more information on program descriptions, please visit our Skills Development Programs from the menu.
